Kingston wins publication of the year award

Our fellow lecturers and students are celebrating this morning after Kingston University’s student newspaper, the River, was named publication of the year at last night’s 2010 Guardian Student Media Awards.

The judging panel – which included Guardian Editor Alan Rushbridger and Channel 4 news presenter Jon Snow – described the River as a:

“Great tabloid with a punchy mix of features and comment.”

Congratulations to everyone involved.

You can look behind the scenes of the prize-winning newspaper by watching journalism lecturer Adam Westbrook‘s short film showing River contributors working against the clock on press day.
